Job Description

Springtide is looking for a talented Design Project Engineer II to work onsite with our client in Malta, NY. 

 

In this role, you will provide technical, managerial, and administrative support to Project Managers and Project Directors.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Develops working knowledge of project scope and applies knowledge to project activities.

  • Supports the Project Manager in the development and maintenance of design execution plans.

  • Coordinates review and approval from the Project Executive and/or the Director of Operations, and communicates this information to the project team.

  • Supports the Project Manager in the development and maintenance of written project scopes of work and communication of this information to the project team.

  • Supports the Project Manager in the development and maintenance of project schedules, including targeted and

    actual activities lists, durations, and sequencing logic, and communicates this information to the project team.

  • Develops a working knowledge of the project budget and identifies exceptions to the project budget throughout execution of the project.

  • Supports the Project Manager in monitoring and reporting project costs.

  • Supports the Project Manager in the development of change control documentation and related financial documentation. 

  • Develops a thorough understanding of contractually required quality in design and construction and supports quality assurance for the project.

  • Monitors design content and quality and coordinates design revisions for constructability and compliance with basis documents, schedule, and budget.

  • Supports the Project Manager in the procurement and coordination of all required project resources, including intradivisional, interdivisional, and extracorporate.

  • Supports the Project Manager in the preparation of subcontract, purchase order, and change control documentation, and related financial documentation.

  • Supports the Project Manager in the evaluation of vendor and subcontractor invoices.

  • Supports the Project Manager in facilitating communication between project participants and produces documentation of communication between project participants.

  • Works with Document Control to ensure that all project documents are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements.

  • Project documents include records of communications, design documents, bid packages and addenda and bulletins thereto, and submittals, among others.

  • Supports the Project Manager in ensuring compliance of project activities with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Supports Project Managers and Executives in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and other sales and marketing documents.

  • Maintains personal competency in relevant professional areas.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree qualified in an appropriate management, engineering subject, or equivalent years of experience in a technical field.

  • 3+ years of engineering experience working for an A/E firm. Construction or manufacturing experience will be considered if related to design.

  • Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting.

  • General knowledge of system design and applicable codes in a specific discipline-related area (Mechanical, Structural, Plumbing, Electrical, or Process).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE {formerly known as EIT}) exam completion or Registered Professional Engineer (PE).

  • Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry experience.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb ladders as necessary.

Work Environment

  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying working conditions.
  • Must be able to adhere to strict cleanroom gowning protocol.

Travel

  • This position will require 5-20% travel or as required by the assigned project.
  • You may be assigned to a client site for an extended period.
  • Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client’s location is possible, depending on the assignment.
  • You will visit Client sites and must adhere to stated safety rules.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Must have the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis.

Safety

  • This position is a safety-sensitive position.
  • The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required.
